Happy New Year........

Best wishes from us for a wonderful year ahead.

We hope all of Blogville are out enjoying all the New Year's Eve Events.

Unfortunately, someone--we think Ernie--convinced Roxy that she could sing and invited her to join Blogville's newest band,
The Bad Dog Agency.

They'll be playing all evening at these venues.
Ernie's place.
Murphy and Stanley's Hideaway.

Bella and I are hitting the bar....we've been listening to them practice all week.

Have a Great time!!!

I just LOVE chasing rocks thrown into the river.

I'm ready......

I'm ready again!

I don't believe it!

 Yep, I was right!
Lying out brazen as you please!
Can you see it Roxy?
Of all the nerve.  Just sitting there as if it owns the neighbourhood.

 Well cat...I'm watching you!

You'd better not try that on our side of the street....

Boxing Day...

Today is Boxing Day.  There are many theories on its origin, but mainly it's just another public holiday.
Some of the larger stores in Sydney opened at 5 a.m. this morning so we think there may be some boxing going on there as people fight for good deals.

We want to show you our other Christmas gift.

 We've needed rain for months!
And it arrived for Christmas....
It didn't start until AFTER our early morning walk.
Our little rain water tank filled up again.

And it continued ALL day....gentle, soaking rain.
The ground was so thirsty that there weren't many puddles this morning.
Sadly, we noticed on today's  walk, many frogs had decided to celebrate on the streets.
Yep, lots of squished froggies.
For HER, rain was the best gift of all.
(Especially as it didn't interfere with our walks.)

He Came!!

Santa Paws came!

Hurry up and take the photo so we can try these! And yes, F & E that is a squeaky snowfreak for Roxy.
We've had our early morning walk (so she can abandon us without guilt) and it is trying VERY HARD to rain!!!
So sleep tight, Santa Paws is on his way....

Merry Christmas...

to all and to all...

Hey look, Roxy, SHE had to take down our calendar to fit all of OUR cards on the wall.

Saturday snicker Sarge Style

(It's Saturday afternoon here.)
The lost skill of proofreading.

And our favourite....

Daisy, have you had a drink this morning?

do you ask?

First of all, we'd like to thank all of Blogville for the POTP, e-mails and good wishes you've sent Roxy and Bella during their recent  sickness.  They are back to normal--whatever that is--eating all food and looking for more.
  Sometimes we forget Blogville's kindness.

We also thank you for all those comments regarding messing up carpet, or floor.

As we knew he would, Bertie came through with his scientific knowledge and has made an erudite contribution that is easily understood by lay dogs.

For those who missed his comment, we reprinted it here.....

"Well now let me see. I fear that some of the earlier commenters, not being scientists perhaps, are barking up the wrong tree, We can easily explain the vomiting on the carpet not the floor behaviour in terms of evolution and survival of the fittest. Although us pups hate to admit it, we are dependent on our humans for our well being. This requires us to gain attention from said humans in times of need. What better way to draw attention to our sicknesses than to direct our vomit to the most expensive piece of soft furnishing or carpeting that comes within range? Surely you can see that to throw up on a nice easy to clean hard surface risks the episode being taken less seriously. thus reducing the chances of us obtaining appropriate medical care.
I hope you find my explanation satisfactory."

Toodle pip!
Bouncing Bertie Boffin.

Bertie, we find it extremely satisfactory as we have been absolved.

AND the next time SHE accuses us of making an unnecessary mess on HER carpets and furniture.  We're going to tell HER to suck eggs--Because it is in our DNA!!!
We hope Gail remembers this if you ever feel the need for medical attention.
Perhaps Gail is one step ahead and doesn't have carpets.

Another Update

The sickies seems to be gone.  Everyone was up for a breakfast biscuit and our 5:30 a.m. walk,  Bella is still not 100%.  She was allowed off the lead and did NOT run off in search of cats.  Our walk was shorter than usual....we'll head to the river in a little while so Roxy can burn up some energy.  She is fully recovered.

Now, SHE has a question.  Perhaps Bertie, Blogville's Scientist can answer this.

Why is it preferable to vomit on carpet rather than the easy-to-clean floor a few millimeters away?

Update from the sick bay

Roxy has been bouncing around all day.  Ate all her chicken and rice as well as some of Bella's.

Bella has been very quiet, mostly sleeping.  Has been eating and drinking small amounts and keeping them down.

I, Daisy, am still healthy.

We thought we'd include this picture.  We think it's funny.

No one has been barking.  As I said, just a quiet day.

A Question.....

The other day  our Newspaper had the following Headline.
A quote from Katy Perry...

"Katy Perry: I was just eating Flamin' Hot Cheetos and drinking"

Do you think KP is patterning her life on that of a well-known Blogville personality?

Just wondering......

Note:  Everydog is home and has eaten dinner.
So far, so good.

Roxy Update

Last Wednesday, our friend Millie's mother cleaned out their freezer and gave us some lamb shanks!
Millie (with sun puddles)
We could hardly wait for the official photos to be taken!
Hurry up, woman!
We spent a glorious afternoon eating all the meat off those.
Roxy, of course, went back to eat whatever Bella and I missed.
That night Roxy began to vomit.  She chose the carpet....the beds and indoors as opposed to outdoors.
Thursday, Roxy was very lethargic and didn't eat or drink.
But at one point rallied to bark at a strange dog next door.
That night, she continued to vomit.
She would only lick water off HER fingers, so SHE was worried.

Off to the doctors.  Roxy was x-rayed to see if there was a piece of bone blocking her up...nothing.  So she has stayed last night to be rehydrated and watched.  It's still too early to ring the vet.

SHE had a good sleep last night--not getting up to clean up vomit or cuddle Roxy.  We were going to the river...
Then SHE noticed vomit all over the house!
And a
Sad Bella outside on the supposed-to-get-the dirt-on-paws rug.

VERY subdued Bella.

We will ring the Vets in about a half hour.
It must be some sort of bug.

We think this is because SHE was skiting over at Nola's blog about how we rarely get sick.
Will keep you posted.

A Package

We got a package today (along with more Christmas cards.)
It was from Mollie and Alfie's shop.

You see, at Halloween SHE sent a picture off to the Costume event.  Just so we could take part.

This is sooooo embarrassing......

We were dressed as SQUIRRELS.

We thought this picture had been destroyed.

But, it turns out we won a prize!!

Come on, open it!
We could choose something from Mollie's shop.
We decided on a new mouse pad.
 Mollie cartooned us!
Isn't it FANTASTIC??!!
 Thanks Mollie.  We love it!

And thanks to Frankie and Ernie for donating the prize.

Now we can retire our old mat.
Note:  Roxy has not appeared in this post because she is staying in hospital overnight.
More later.
