Name Game

Happy Independence Day everyone!
We're here to play Frankie's Name Game.
Because we are the seventh, eighth and nineth scotties in this family, this book has come in very handy for names.

Our human (known as the Alpha) heard the name Kendra somewhere and liked it. When she checked in the book, it was a Scottish name! It was added to the list of possible names. When Kendra joined the family, she was called several names; but only came when she heard 'Kendra'. So in a way, she chose her own name. Kendra's breeder registered her AFTER she had her new name, so her official name is Braecrest Kendra.
Sometimes we call her 'the old girl' or 'fat girl'.

Bella, on the other hand, came with her name. There was the list of possibilities, but she'd been Bella for five months and the name just suited her. She thinks she's a real princess.
Her official name is 'Upyrkilt Im on Fire'. (They got that right!)
Sometimes we call her Bellatrix, after the mad witch in Harry Potter, or Belladonna or Bela Lagosi when she gets in her wild, funny state. She keeps us all on our toes.
'
And then there's me, Daisy. Naturally, I have the best story. The book wasn't even consulted.
Alpha received a small inheritance when her mother died. And of course, she decided to buy a scottie. Well, scotties are not very common in Australia--I don't know why, we're wonderful. But Alph had to go to Sydney one weekend and there, was an ad for scottie puppies! A coincidence? I think not. Anyway, she rang up and they had some females--also rare. So she came to get me AND it was Mother's Day, believe it or not. Her mother's favourite flowers were daisies. So there was no other possible name for me, being the Memorial Scottie.
My official name is Hemskirk Charisma. But sometimes I'm called Daze, or Daisymay, or Kegs, Keg-on-legs(when I'm a bit pudgy.)
And that's how we got our names.

Oh, and you're right abouts that wacky Mayzie in Seussical. I'm really very much NOT like her pawsonality-wise. She also tooks pills to make her tail feathers grow and my brindle furs are 100% natural.

  4. Hi to our three raven haired beauties! We're really enjoying Frankie's great name game! We haven't joined in ourselves as we recently blogged about our names but we're having loads of fun reading about how all our pals got their names.

We love that Kendra chose her own name, that is pretty cool. And Bella is such a pretty name, she suits it very much. We've always loved the name Daisy and now we know what it means to Alpha and how it all came about it was obviously meant to BE!!
